Project overview: A design challenge

Design a mobile app for an online store specializing in pet care products, focusing on showcasing products and guiding users to explore various categories.

Problem statement: Pet owners increasingly rely on online platforms to shop for pet care products, yet many face challenges such as finding the right items tailored to their pets’ unique needs, lack of personalization, and poor categorization . Existing platforms often lack intuitive navigation, personalized recommendations, and clear, detailed product information.  Products are not grouped logically causing confusion, frustration, and abandoned purchases.

Goal – Design a mobile app that offers a seamless, personalized, and enjoyable shopping experience for pet owners. The app should simplify product discovery, provide tailored recommendations based on pet type, age, and health needs, and ensure transparent reviews, product descriptions. By addressing these pain points, the app will empower users to make informed, confident purchases and improve the overall well-being of their pets.

Competitive audit: Competitive audit was conducted to understand how other players are projecting themselves in the market; their strengths and their weak points.
